         This is with reference to an email received from the Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs regarding a scheme called the ‘Scholarship Programme for Diaspora Children (SPDC) for the academic year 2017-18 , which was launched on 17^th July, 2017. All the details are available on the online portal for the scheme, which  is spdcindia.gov.in. The last date of submission of applications online is 31.10.2017.

         As you are aware, SPDC is applicable to Children of NRIs/PIOs/OCIs in 66 countries for undergraduate programmes. The scheme is applicable to the following four categories:

1. a) Children of Persons of Indian Origin
2. b) Children of Non-Resident of Indians
3. c) Children of Indian workers working in ECR countries studying abroad &
4. d) Children of Indian workers in ECR countries – studying in India

         You are requested to give wide publicity to the programme among members of your association, the Indian community, especially the children of NRIs/PIOs.
