January 2014,

Dear all,

Here comes the first IASH event of the year! Minister of Textiles (Government of India), Dr. K.S Rao along with Dr. Vidhu P. Nair, Consul General of India, Hamburg would be visiting Hanover. IASH would be organising an interaction with them followed by potluck dinner.

Date:11.01.2014

Time:18:30 hrs

Venue : Would be announced to participants via E-Mail

Due to the short notice of minister’s visit, we were unable to find a venue with a capacity to accommodate more people. Hence this event is restricted to 20 people (head count). The members are requested to register themselves by sending an E-Mail to iash.members@gmail.com latest by 12 PM on 08.01.2014. The registrations (based on first come – first served basis) of 20 people would be considered. The selected people would be informed via E-Mail by Thursday – 09.01.2014. about the venue and would also be requested to bring some dishes for the potluck Members are requested to register for this event only if they are sure that they can attend the event. Backing out at the last moment is not encouraged.

PS : We apologize from our side to restrict the numbers for this event. However we were left with no other option.

Holi and Traditional Indian New year Dear Friends,

After a disappointing way of the nature not helping us with our Feb event Snow Sledging, IASH team takes the pleasure to invite you to celebration of Holi and Traditional Indian New year along with children’s event, fun quiz, presentations about festivals, indoor games and potluck dinner.

Topic : India, Germany : Their people, politics, arts and sports.
As a prelude to the quiz, 7 question (one each day) from the quiz topic would be asked. The
person giving the first right answer for maximum questions would be the winner and would be
awarded after the quiz competition.

Just like every year this is a Ticket based event and please find the ticketing details below :
Normal Price of the Ticket (per person) : 20 Euros
(Free Entry for kids under 7 years)

For IASH Members :
– IASH members can buy the tickets for a special price of 5 Euros (per ticket per person).
– Each ticket costs only 5 Euros for the IASH members.
– IASH members should confirm their participation by filing the form below and transferring the
money accordingly before 10th October in order to avail this special discount.
– Special discount will not be applicable if the members fail to confirm their participation
on or before 10th October 2014.
For Non IASH Members:
– Normal prices are applicable.
– Each Ticket per person costs 20 Euros (Kids under 7 years have free entry)
– Please try to confirm your partipation by 15th October and help us in better planning.
– Tickets will be sold on “First come First Serve” basis,as we have limited seating capacity.

Invitation for the IASH-General Assembly on 16th November (Open Event) :

Dear All
Greetings!!

We would like to inform and invite you all for the IASH-General Assembly-2014 which is going to
be held on 16.11.2014 at 15:00 hrs.

Venue: International Office, near Leibniz University Main Building (Tram Stop : Leibniz
Universität)

Like every year, General Assembly is intended to discuss about the performance of IASH for the
year and also to take some crucial decisions for the better running of the organization for the
next year. This time we also have elections for the posts of Vice President and Treasurer.
The assembly can be attended by both members and non members, so we kindly invite both
members and non members to attend the event.

Topics for Discussion :
– Feedback on Diwali-2014 organization.
– Abolishing the membership fee from the year 2015 (i.e. to make IASH membership free for the
next year).
– Elections for the posts of Vice President and Treasurer. Members and Non Members interested
for the above positions can send us the nominations to our email address
(iash.board@gmail.com).
– Suggestions on organizing meeting with PM Mr.Modi during Hannover Messe-2015.
– Planning events for the year 2015
– Focus on more public related activities to attract Non-Indian people interested in India and its
activities in Hannover.
– Starting a program to honour the PhD completing Indian students from various institutions in
Hannover.

We the Board members request everyone to attend the meeting as some crucial decisions have
to be made regarding the future functioning of IASH based on our latest suvey,without the
minimum quorum (at least 1/3 rd members) no decisions can be made as per the constitution.
So we personally request your active participation.
