The Leibniz Universität Hannover has a special department working to help people who are subject to Sexual Abuse. We have received this information from the Hochschulbüro for Chancenvielfalt. What is sexual Abuse?
The term sexual harassment is any sexual behavior (be it direct or indirect, verbal or nonverbal) that is offensive, intimidating, degrading, humiliating, or perceived as violence and is undesirable. This includes:
- Sexist and gender degrading remarks
- unpleasant looks, staring or whispering
- ambiguous jokes or sayings
- unwanted physical approaches
- Sexual offers or requests for sexual acts under threat
- Hanging up nude photos
- Posters with offensive or pornographic pictures
What do when you are subject to Sexual Abuse?
It is important to say No and be clear that you do not agree to the behavior of the other person. In situations where you would like to complaint or seek further assistance the following are the institutions you can get in touch with:
